Atelier mave

Atelier Mave is a Berlin-based illustration and design studio founded by Berry Aktuglu with a passion for creating colorful and quirky illustrations and products.

Each design starts with hand-drawn lines, has its own playful characters and color combinations that draw Mave’s cheerful vocabulary.

She mainly uses gouache and pastel colors to create original artworks and digital media for commercial collaborations.

She is particularly inspired by nature, travel, vintage markets and childhood memories. Berry creates work for all sorts of products, from textiles, stationery, home design, publishing projects to personal paintings.


Marina Porras

Marina Porras

Marina Porras Chassignet, born in Barcelona and living in Berlin, studied Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she also completed her postgraduate master’s degree in illustration.

She has received various grants and scholarships, including at The Fabric Workshop and Museum Philadelphia (2014), Marafiki Arts Kenya (2015) and The Danish Art Workshops Copenhagen (2017). She was also co-founder of the risograph printing workshop “Penthaus für schöne Formate” in Berlin (2016).

Since 2016 she has been working as a freelance illustrator in various disciplines such as editorial, textile design, packaging or interior design and has various teaching assignments for various institutions, including at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Margarita Kollmann

The Russian-born freelance illustrator has been living in Germany for over 20 years. In 2019 she completed her studies at the UE (University of Europe for Applied Sciences) and since then has realized several projects in the field of comics, logo design, website design and game art. She works mostly digitally, but she likes to combine analog and digital. She uses ink and watercolors to then digitally rework them. Her style is often defined in the fine stroke and the love for detailed drawings.

Since 2020, Margarita has been supporting the Urban Art Kids Workshop Team with great formats such as Introduction to Comic Drawing, Kawaii Comic Workshop and Acrylic Drawing for Children.

Isabela Savas

Isabela Savas is a Brazilian self-taught artist who found her home in Berlin in 2015.

There, her artistic ventures began with watercolor techniques and focused mainly on portraits of women. Over time, Isabela decided to explore other forms of illustration and painting techniques as well as embroidery.

Her work is recognizable by her expressive portraits and the differentiated use of colours.

Laura Martin

Laura Martín

Laura Martín, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a graphic designer and illustrator with a degree from the University of Buenos Aires. She has been living in Berlin since 2020. In her hometown, she worked for various children’s book publishers, while illustration gradually became part of her life. Her personal life and everyday experiences are her greatest source of inspiration. In her warm illustrations, Laura captures simple moments in which nature, women, friends and small pleasures are always present.
Laura works mainly digitally, but her illustrations are based on hand-drawn sketches.

Emily Claire Völker

The Australian-German artist, illustrator and animator lives in Berlin. It creates works that make people feel that they can bring about change, protect our planet and enjoy life in all its beauty. Her core beliefs are that we are much more powerful than we think – she learned that when she was part of the global climate movement.

Most of her illustrations are made with watercolor paints, ink and acrylic gouache. She loves to experiment with different color schemes, working with elements of patterns, flowers and hand-picking.

Emily’s work focuses on environmental issues, the climate crisis, refugees, human rights, democracy and feminism.

Anke Rega

Anke Rega is an illustrator from Berlin. She loves colors and all the small and big things in life. They make her smile and open her heart. It is precisely this feeling that Anke wants to return with her art. She loves to inspire people with her playful and colorful illustrations.

Anke usually draws with watercolor and gouache, digitally edits the individual elements and merges them into her final images. She loves the texture of real color and the depth created by mixing traditional and digital ways of working.

Anke’s dream is to live by the water and draw from her garden studio.

Romy is an illustrator who lives in Berlin, Germany. She graduated in Design & Illustration from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg in 2008.

Since then, her work has been used by a wide range of clients for newspapers, magazines, books, advertising and cultural events. Her original paintings travelled to group exhibitions in Shanghai, Seoul, Budapest, Paris, London and Antwerp.

Romy is a member of the artist collective ‘Spring’, founded in Hamburg in 2004. Together, they publish a new monothematic issue of the eponymous ‘Spring Magazine’, an anthology of comics, illustration and free drawing, realized with a variety of visual narrative techniques.

Katja Spitzer

Katja Spitzer was born in Zerbst in 1979. She studied art history and history in Halle as well as illustration in Leipzig and Lucerne. Today she works as an illustrator in the Atelier petit 4 in Prenzlauer Berg on picture books, book covers and magazine illustrations. She also writes and illustrates her own books. Together with Jutta Bauer, she published the book Das Beste von Allem in Aladin Verlag in 2016. Katja Spitzer teaches at the Academy of Illustration and Design in Berlin (AID) and gives workshops for children and adults all over the world.
