Animation course for children

In our weekly animation course, children discover the fascinating world of moving images – in a playful, creative way and with plenty of room for their own ideas. Whether made of clay, in shadow play or digitally on a tablet: This is where your own small films are created week after week – from the first concept to the premiere on the big screen.

What can your child expect in the course?

A varied journey through classic and digital animation techniques:

• Stop-motion with modelling clay: Shape your own figures, invent wild adventures – and bring them to life frame by frame. With exciting tricks such as green screen effects, the stories are staged even more imaginatively.
• Shadow theatre with multiplane technology: The design of foreground, middle and background creates a lively play of shadows – colourful, creative and surprisingly effective.
• Digital 2D animation on the tablet: With intuitive drawing apps, small animated films can be created – even without previous drawing experience. Here, the focus is on the idea, not perfection.

At the end of the course, all the films created will be watched together – a real highlight for children and parents!

Who is the course for?

For children who like to do handicrafts, paint or knead, invent stories or want to know how to create small films themselves – professionally and with a lot of fun.

• Course period: 15 September to 15 December 2025 (no course during the autumn holidays)
• Time: Mondays, 4:30–6:00 p.m. (weekly)
• Age group: 9–14 years
