Japanese Bookbinding Workshop

Paper, needle, thread – and in the end, a book that only exists once. Illustrator Viki Mladenovski invites young and old into the art of Japanese bookbinding: a centuries-old technique in which the stitching remains visible and a small pattern is created along the spine with each stitch.

Together we fold, punch holes and sew our own notebooks, sketchbooks or photo albums – without any previous knowledge. Children from [6] years of age and adults work side by side: a great format to be creative together in the run-up to Christmas and to come to rest.

And best of all, the self-bound book is a beautiful, handmade Christmas gift – for your loved ones or for yourself.
