MY CHILDHOOD

In the exhibition “My Childhood” we immerse ourselves in the evening expensive childhood. Helena Hernandez has created a series of art embroidery that reflects her childhood in Mexico. The exhibition was created as part of Urban Art Kids’ “Artist in Residence” program last December 2020. The artist Helena Hernandez created unique embroidery works in the shop studio in Charlottenburg during this period.

MY CHILDHOOD – FANTASY WORLD ON ART EMBROIDERY
“When I was a child, I lived in a world of fantasy. I could transform into different creatures and pretend to have their powers or spirit. As playful as it sounds, it profoundly shaped the way I see life and what I do. As an artist, I wanted to keep these emotions and feelings alive, they gave me the freedom to imagine a world in which everything is possible. In a way, Because of what I’m still doing, I’m still living there, I’m creating fantasies. This is a series of art embroidery based on the concept of empowerment through playfulness. Immerse yourself in the adventure of Helena Hernandez and let your reflection shine on her characters.”
