Fantasy world

The exhibition fantasy world is an art project by the 7-year-old boy Rubin and his mother Margarita Kollmann. Rubin loves abstract art and started drawing at the age of 5. Initially equipped with colored pencils and later with just a pencil, Rubin created images in his own distinctive style. One day his mother painted a drawing and so a collaboration between the two was born. Equipped with paper, pencil and his boundless imagination, Rubin draws motifs from his dreams and also from his everyday life. All of Rubin’s drawings were painted watercolors by his mother. And to give the outline of the original stroke more present, the pencil strokes were tracked with black ink.

Margarita Kollmann, an illustrator from Berlin, has a special relationship with colors because of a form of synaesthesia. This resulted in unique colorful works of art that take the viewer into a childlike and imaginative world.
