Book Presentation + Workshop Island Dreams

In the workshop “Island Dreams” we embark on a creative journey:*
First we listen to excerpts from “Rosie on the Island” – and soon we will raise anchor together! Inspired by Rosie’s sentence “One day I sat on an island”, we discover our own, very personal dream island.
With paper, scissors, pens and paints, the island comes alive:

What does it look like? Sandy beaches, rugged cliffs or a jungle paradise?
Who lives there? Brave explorers, friendly giants or mysterious beings?
What animals are there? Flying fish, singing birds or maybe a unicorn?
What is there to eat? Coconuts, magical fruits or self-invented treats?

In the end, each child holds their own dream island in their hands – and all the islands together? They form a very special island state that we explore together!

About the illustrator:

Karen Runge studied illustration in Groningen and Stockholm and has lived in Berlin since 2001. “Rosie on the Island” is her picture book debut – a homage to the imagination and the small wonders of everyday life.
